The developers describe Project Wingman as an action game rather than a hardcore flight simulator. Project Wingman also includes a rogue-lite Conquest mode that sees the player expanding their zone of control over a map of Cascadia. Players take the role of a mercenary fighter pilot hired to aid the United Cascadian Republic in their war of independence from the Australia-based Pacific Federation. Developed by Australian studio Sector D2, Project Wingman takes place in an alternate Earth where the discovery of a resource called corium has altered the course of human history. That changed today when a completely unannounced Xbox port appeared on Game Pass. While it first arrived on Game Pass in July, it was still a Windows exclusive. Humble Games initially released Project Wingman for PC in December 2020. This includes one surprise PC title that just landed on consoles. And while games occasionally disappear from the service, including several that are leaving Game Pass after this month, new titles are added regularly. The Xbox Game Pass library seems to get bigger every day.
